Mormonism and the Church of Latter Day Saints
Mormons, or Latter Day Saints, follow the Book of Mormon, a religious record that is purported to be the translation of Joseph Smith's golden plates. The founder of this religion, Joseph Smith, claims Angel Moroni told him to go to Cumorah in upstate New York where the ancient records were located. There he translated them into English. The Book of Mormon spans three civilizations ranging from 2700 BC to 420 AD and is believed to have been originally written by prophets.
