About Jay
I am an Active Duty Officer who joined the Army in January 1992 as a private in the Infantry. I attended Officer Candidate School as a Staff Sergeant in 2003 and became a Transportation Officer. I have served one tour in Egypt as part of the Multinational Force & Observers and two tour in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and one tour to Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am married and have five children (three daughters and two sons).
I have always been interested in photography, but did not start learning about the craft until I took a course in photography as part of my undergraduate studies for my BS in International Business, Management, and Economics in September 2005. After this course sparked my passion, I began to read extensively about digital photography. I have been formally trained through the New York Institute of Photography, earning my Professional Photography Certification in January 2011.
Jay's Photography
My greatest interests are commercial photography and portraits. Commercial photography interests me because of my business background and it is always interesting to see how an image can pique an emotion that is meant to entice product awareness and help the consumer to identify their need for the product. Portraits are interesting because it is always fun to catch the hundreds of expressions a face can make. Throw in the uniqueness of each face and lighting (whether natural or in a studio), and the options are limitless. To me, life is about relationships, and I hope that my photography will bring many interesting and valuable relationships.
Jay's Website and other Online Galleries
I have my own photography business, Realife Productions and maintain my own website at www.RealifeProductions.biz. If you get a chance, please feel free to check it out. I have links to several of my online stock photo galleries. I also have a blog which is linked from my site too. If you see an image in any of my online galleries that you would like to use on a business card or in another media format, please contact me through my website. I would be more than happy to discuss any projects with you.
